This is a nice sized Oak Board. We chose this piece because of its unusual character and weight. Most oak you see is quarter sawn but this piece has some nice ribboning going on. If you like your things substantial you will like this piece.

Hickory is one of our hardest local woods. The grain on this is called "Pecky". The beveled edge and breadboarding add a nice design element. This board could be used as a cutting board due to the hardness of the hickory.

Leo said he wanted this board to look like the back of his favorite fiddle! We think it came pretty close. This board is stained a slightly darker shade to really bring out the tiger grain in the wood.
