For years, Leo and I were antique dealers. We love the travel, the buying and selling (no, we never had a reality television show) and interacting with the public. In the antique business you are always learning about something new. But most of all we loved the beauty of the wood that we found in old furniture. We learned a lot about different kinds of wood, furniture construction, and furniture repair. Then in 2005 we traveled to Ireland. Have you ever visited some place where you immediately felt that it was home? That was  what we felt when we were in Ireland. We returned there the following year. Debby was lucky enough to find work and Leo was lucky enough to find a magic fiddle and learn how to play it.  When we returned to our home in Geauga County we brought a Celtic sensibility with us. This led us to the concept for SlainteHome.

What is SlainteHome?

We design and craft functional, organic art forms for your home and garden. All of our items are made in Geauga County, Ohio. Geauga County is known for its’ scenic beauty and large Amish community. While we love Ireland we also love where we live. All around us we have rolling hills, picturesque farms and beautiful woods. We are able to find all kinds of beautiful, interesting wood to use in our pieces. We let the character of the wood speak to us when it comes to deciding what should be made from it.

An Irish saying

“Once long ago a little piece of heaven fell to earth and it was called Ireland.”
